MEET DAVID

SELF EMPLOYED

DELIVERY

DRIVER

DAVID

David used to work in security, but two years ago he joined InPost as a Self-Employed Driver because he wanted a change of role but didn’t want to work in an office. He fancied delivery driving and felt that InPost had the best reputation for customer service, so he applied here. Also, he didn’t want to have to work weekends.

David loves being out on the road every day and the fact that he’s left to his own devices and not micromanaged. If he delivers all his parcels in three hours – he can have his day back! There’s always a steady number of parcels to deliver too; even in non-busy periods, there are always parcels to deliver.

The best thing about the role for David is earning money for driving about and chatting to nice customers.

MEET ELENA

SELF EMPLOYED

DELIVERY

DRIVER

ELENA

Originally from Romania, Elena was previously a primary school teaching assistant and responsible for running a housekeeping team in a hotel – both roles she found time-consuming, exhausting and stressful.

Elena was recommended to her role at InPost by her brother-in-law as with two children, one still at home and one off to university, he thought being a Self-Employed Driver would be a more flexible and less stressful option for her. He was right.

Almost a year later and Elena hasn’t looked back. She loves the control she has by being her own boss. She loves meeting people and delivering parcels they’re excited to receive. She loves the freedom of being outside, the changing seasons and the landscape. Elena says it is hard work at times and being organised is really important. But now she’s learnt the ropes and is up and running, she wouldn’t change it for the world.

MEET JAMES

JAMES

James has been a Self-Employed Driver for over 3 years. He used to work part-time as a nurse but needed some extra income to help with his bills so applied to be a driver with InPost after a friend recommended them. He loved it from day one.

He finds it incredibly different from nursing and loves the flexibility and freedom, and being out and about all day. As a people person, he enjoys interacting with all his customers and feels like although you have autonomy, you still feel part of a big team.

He found the fast-paced speed at which Self-Employed Drivers work surprising and a great way to keep fit. And he loves the fact that once he’s delivered his last parcel, he can switch-off, go home and relax. He never feels like he’s taking his work home with him and that’s really important to James.
